1 to 1 Million, Mahavir dialyses centres achieved a new record

Hyderabad: An NGO that started its journey in the year 2009 in Hyderabad to provide Dialyses to poor patients, for just Rs 300, has created a new record by achieving 10 lakh Dialyses sessions. Hyderabad based NGO Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Relief Foundation Trust (BMJRFT) achieves a record ten lakh Dialyses, It crossed this milestone on 14th October 2021, informed PC Parakh accompanied by all the trustees while addressing a press conference here on Monday, at its primary Centre in District Hospital, King Koti.

The Trust founded by 16 like-minded Jain friends of the city in the year 2009 has been offering Dialysis at Rs 300, as against Rs 1200- to 3000 being charged in Corporate Hospitals. It has 189 dialysis machines doing close to 500 dialyses sessions every day. The service is offered at 8 different locations and in 5 associate hospitals in Hyderabad. It has reduced the financial burden to the patients and saved about Rs 125 crore to patients. Besides subsidized dialyses, BMJRFT also provides injections required to maintain haemoglobin and iron levels at prices that are very affordable.

The locations where subsidized dialysis is offered include 1. King Kothi Government District Hospital, 2. Mahavir Hospital, AC Guards Masabtank  3. Ramdev Rao Memorial Hospital, Kukkatpally 4. Gurunanak Medical Centre, Gurudwara, Secunderabad 5. Zoi Hospital, Attapur 6. ChallaHospital, Ameerpet 7. Indo American Hospital, Malakpet 8. Community Health Center, Aler.

Commemoration event to thank all the supporters

A function organised by Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Relief Foundation Trust(BMJRFT) to mark their achievement of one million Dialyses. Minister for Health and Finance, the Government of Telangana graced the event and appreciated the trust for their humanitarian cause in helping many with Dialyses patients. Responding to PC Parakh, Chairman of the Trust about their outstanding issues, the Minister promised to resolve all of them. He assured that a meeting would be scheduled within a week between the trust representatives and government officials.

Earlier welcoming the gathering the chairman of the trust Mr PC Parakh said six lakh out of ten lakh Dialyses sessions were performed for BPL families. By providing Dialysis at subsidies cost, the trust has saved Rs 125 crore to the patients. The function was graced by Ambassador Dr Deepak Vohra, IFS (Retd), Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Lesotha, South Sudan & Guinea-Bissau; Shi Dr Deepak Shah, Motivational Speaker; Brig Abhijit Chandra SM, Station Commander—TAASA, President, Sec-bad Cantonment Board and Ms G. Sunitha, MLA from Aler.

A family which donated land 500 sq yards worth approximately RS 6/7 crore, presented a cheque for Rs 1 crore. Several donors announced their donations. The trust kept a target of raising Rs 10 crore as a carpus fund and was successful in raising funds to a very large extent.
